Machines that play a vital role throughout the FIBC

manufacturing process

The production of FIBC bags involves different processes until the finished product is achieved. For this reason, the entire production requires different machines designed to perform functions specific at each checkpoint in the manufacturing process. In this post, we’ll explore the machines that play a vital role when producing FIBC bags.

The vital role of each machine during the FIBC manufacturing process

An average of 7,000 FIBC or Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container bags can take up the same footprint as 500 bulk boxes. This means that for companies with tight spaces, FIBC bags prove to be a huge advantage.

Let’s look at the machines involved in the manufacturing process:

  • Fabric Cutting Machine – The Fabric Cutting Machine is used for FIBC jumbo bags and woven sacks. It is designed for fast and accurate cutting, giving a better finish with reduced labour costs. The fabric-cutting machine supports the heat cut and the ultrasonic cut methods. The heat-cut fabric-cutting method is used when precise production is the requirement. The ultrasonic cut involves fabric cutting for food-grade production.

  • Belt Cutting Machine – The FIBC Belt-Cutting Machine is designed to cut loops and handles. At Armstrong, we use needle loom machines to create handles and loops which are processed in these belt-cutting machines. This process eliminates wastage of fabric as the exact quantity is cut for the short and long legs of the belt. This machine can cut five to ten pieces at a time.

  • Liner Sealing Machine – At Armstrong, we manufacture a wide range of Liner Sealing Machines that use liner rolls to seal the liners. The machine helps to create different PE liners to insert into big bags. We manufacture different models, including:
    - PE Aluminum Folio Sealing Models
    - PE Bottle Shape Sealing Models
    - PE Gambo Liner Sealing Models
    - PE Suspended Liner Sealing Models

  • Baffle Punch Machine – The Baffle Punch Machine is designed to make panels for jumbo bags. The machine cuts the baffles in PP fabric pieces, supporting capsule- and oval-shaped punches with hot or cold cuts.

  • Bag Cleaning Machine – The Bag Cleaning Machine is designed with a static charger, 2HD cameras, and an LED display to view the inside of the bag. For proper cleaning, the machine is integrated with pre-filtered air technology and an automated cleaning process to remove foreign particles, loose threads, etc.

  • Bale Press Machine – This machine is designed to compress the FIBC bags into bales. The aim is to render these bags for compact storage and economical transportation.

  • Testing Rig Machine – The Testing Rig Machine performs burst, cycle, hold, and peak testing. The machine has four cameras, a sensor system and a digital dashboard. It measures the strength of the fabrics and stitches by loading them onto metal hooks. The sensor system applies a certain amount of weight and pressure upon the bags to test their strength.

  • Liner Opener Machine - The Liner Opener Machine is designed to enhance the speed of inserting and sticking PE liners into PP FIBC bags. The Machine has pneumatic arms to render proper opening and spacing between the PE liner and inner lines, causing no creation of wrinkles on the bags. The liner is then placed on the pneumatic arms where the operator applies the glue. The FIBC bag is placed over the liner upon completion of this process.

  • Strapex Handle-Wrapping Machine – The Strapex Handle-Wrapping Machine covers the handles of FIBC bags with fabric. This wrapping fabric is meant to strengthen the bags for easy lifting and transportation. This machine can be used for 1-loop or 2-loop bags of jumbo size, bulk, container or FIBC bags. This machine conducts automated handle wrapping for fabric feeding and pulling, automatic thread chain cutting, and upper and lower chain stitch sewing head with one needle, and two thread.

  • Bag Rolling Machine – The FIBC Bag Rolling Machine is the first-ever bag rolling machine manufactured in India by Armstrong. This machine is designed to create single and double-loop bags and transport bulk loads.
